4. Quarterback will not be the first position selected

Quarterbacks can only truly succeed if you put a good squad around them, and the Colts need to go ahead and do that before selecting their next franchise guy. With nine total picks, Indianapolis is set up to address multiple needs throughout the Draft.

There are a number of players in this draft that can make an impact in other positions, and that includes at corner, defensive line, and offensive line. Even if the Colts hold on to that four spot in the draft, they could still go defense as there are a number of solid players in that sector.

Prospects like Christian Gonzalez and Will Anderson have already been mocked to Indianapolis. With the defensive talent at the top of the draft, Indy may not hesitate to grab one of the available guys.

And if Indy is going to end up drafting a quarterback as expected, there are still players like Hendon Hooker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson who will be available after the top four quarterbacks are picked.

Rebuilding a team is a long and arduous process, and this team is not simply a quarterback away, they need help at those other positions, and with Jacksonville expected to reign this division for a short time, they may need to hold on and stock draft capital and young players for a year before striking.
