1. Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew will compete to be Colts starting QB

This is the position battle that everyone will be paying attention to, not just Indianapolis fans. Anthony Richardson, the fourth-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, will compete with veteran Gardner Minshew for Indy’s starting quarterback spot.

Richardson was drafted to be the franchise quarterback, and Jim Irsay has already made it clear that he wants Richardson to play early, as that’s how young QBs get better. So the spot will eventually be Richardson’s regardless. Everyone knows that, including Gardner Minshew.

The question in camp, though, will be: when is Richardson’s first start going to happen? Will he develop enough throughout training camp and the preseason to start Week 1, or will he have to continue developing behind Garner Minshew for a few weeks? That’ll all be determined by how Richardson performs in training camp.
