2. Both cornerback spots are up for grabs
The Colts entered the offseason with a pretty strong cornerback room. Stephon Gilmore was on one side and Isaiah Rodgers Sr. was on the other. Unfortunately, Gilmore is now with the Dallas Cowboys and Rodgers is a free agent that’s suspended from the NFL.
What was once a solid unit is now being referred to as arguably the worst unit in the NFL. Fortunately, the Colts have a ton of young talent in the cornerback room. Indianapolis drafted three corners in the 2023 NFL Draft: JuJu Brents, Darius Rush, and Jaylon Jones. They’re added to a room with other young guys like Dallis Flowers.
This won’t be the traditional battle between two players for one spot . It’ll be more like an open competition for both cornerback spots. Unless the Colts add a veteran corner soon, they’ll have two really young guys starting at corner.
