1. Colts could cut WR Isaiah McKenzie
Isaiah McKenzie was just signed this offseason by the Indianapolis Colts, but he may not even get the opportunity to play an official game with Indy. After losing Parris Campbell, McKenzie made sense as a veteran option for an unproven Colts wide receiver room. However, things have changed.
Indianapolis re-signed Ashton Dulin this offseason, and Indy may have gotten the steal of the Draft by selecting wide receiver Josh Downs in the third round. Downs is extremely talented, and the Colts have high expectations and plans for him in Shane Steichen’s offense.
With Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce established on the outside, there will be a battle for the other receiver spots. Downs seems like a safe bet to make the roster, but Dulin and McKenzie will probably be competing for the same spot. If McKenzie can’t establish himself over Dulin, or the other wideouts on the roster, his time with the Colts could end up being really brief.
