Over the first week of NFL free agency, the Indianapolis Colts have been productive. Re-signing some of their important names and rewarding in-house guys, the Colts have made good use of their cap situation.

Still, they have the potential to do even more. The Colts have a few roster holes yet to be filled, and some big names continue to be available.

Looking at the current state of the Colts' roster after their initial wave of signings and re-signings, there are four notable names left in free agency this team could choose to sign.

Let's start with one more in-house name.

Julian Blackmon

Last season was by far the best yet for safety Julian Blackmon. The former third-round pick busted loose for career highs in tackles (88), pass breakups (8), interceptions (4) and fumble recoveries (2) in 15 games played. Unfortunately, Blackmon's season came to a close late in the year due to a shoulder injury.

One of the biggest holes on this Colts roster, at the moment, continues to be at safety. And, Blackmon should be priority number one for Indianapolis right now. The 25-year-old deserves to come back on an extension, just like many of his teammates have been brought back this offseason.

In coverage, Blackmon had an especially remarkable season in 2023. He was a completely different player in Year 4, and that's not to say he wasn't already effective in coverage in prior seasons. But, last year, Blackmon was elite. He allowed an opposing quarterback rating of just 46.6 and zero touchdowns, being targeted 46 times.

One underrated aspect of Blackmon's game? He was brought on 18 blitzes last year, up from a previous career high of eight. He's become a do-it-all type that certainly deserves to come back.
