3 things the Colts should have on their Christmas list
By John Makuch
The Indianapolis Colts have so far been on the nice list in the AFC, exceeding expectations and putting themselves in a position for the postseason. Christmas came early for them with the hiring of Shane Steichen, who has been a huge gift for this team and their future.
But Christmas is arriving, and there are just a few things this team would like to add to their wishlist before Santa comes to town.
1. A win against Atlanta
The Colts have a Christmas Eve matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, and every game is becoming a must-win game at this point in the season. Atlanta has had quarterback issues, a coaching controversy, and not the strongest season by most stretches of the imagination.
However, the Dirty Birds are still in contention for the NFC South, so this is a team playing for their season and their playoff livelihood just like Indianapolis. This is another game where the defense can hold the opponent to under 20, given the poor offense from Atlanta, so this defensive line has to show up yet again.
Bring the pressure, and take care of business, and Indianapolis is that much closer to locking up a spot in the playoffs in what would be an impressive season given their circumstances. The Atlanta game is crucial though, a loss and some unfavorable results can take the Colts out of the driver's seat here, so a win is needed. But playoffs are not just on the line here, this team can go for something greater.
