The 2023 NFL season is near. The Indianapolis Colts moved one step closer on Wednesday, holding their first training camp practice of the year. After reporting on Tuesday, the team hit the field on Wednesday in front of a ton of fans.

This was the first training camp practice for head coach Shane Steichen and quarterback Anthony Richardson. Although some of Indy’s stars are still sidelined, the majority of the team was already on the field making plays. For a fan base that’s coming off a disheartening 4-12-1 season, every exciting play serves as a marker of promise.

On day one, there were plenty of promising moments for fans. Sure, it was just the first day of practice, and the players aren’t even wearing pads. Still, there’s reason to be excited. Let’s take a look at three exciting moments from day one of training camp.

3. Kenny Moore II is making big plays

Kenny Moore II is coming off a rough season. He missed Indy’s last five games of the 2022 season with an injury, and before that, he was having an underwhelming season. That’s why he was recently named as a player that needs to have a big training camp. After day one, it appears that he’s on his way to making that happen.

One of the big plays of the day was when Moore dove and successfully broke up a pass. After batting the ball, Moore jumped up and celebrated. While that seems like a simple thing to get excited about, it’s exciting for fans to see a happy Kenny Moore II making plays. Hopefully that’s something that will continue throughout camp and into the season.
