1. A young corner needs to have a strong camp
This isn’t a specific player, but a group. Indianapolis has a ton of young corners. Dallis Flowers is entering his second year, and JuJu Brents, Darius Rush, and Jaylon Jones are entering their first year. Of those four young corners, at least one, but really two, needs to step up during training camp.
Since the offseason started, the Colts lost their three top corners from last season. Stephon Gilmore was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, Brandon Facyson left in free agency, and Isaiah Rodgers Sr. was released after being suspended by the NFL. The response from Indianapolis was drafting three talented corners.
The four young corners are athletic, have great size, and were all pretty good in college. However, there’s no telling how these young guys will translate to the NFL. They need to quickly show in training camp that they can handle the league just fine. If not, the Colts will be in trouble defensively. Indy’s defensive front is solid, and so are the safeties. The corners, however, are a question mark.
With how important the cornerback position is, the Colts desperately need one or two young guys to ball out in training camp and establish themselves as starters.
