NFL broadcaster throws shade at Jonathan Taylor as he ran into the end zone

Oh man.

Jonathan Taylor took a lot of heat last week when he ripped off a massive touchdown run because he had dropped the football before he crossed the goal line. The Indianapolis Colts went on to lose a critical playoff tiebreaker to the Denver Broncos, and now their playoff hopes are pretty much on life support.

The Colts have to win out and hope for a ton of help if they want to get into the postseason. About halfway through the Colts' Week 16 match-up against the Tennessee Titans, Taylor broke off another massive touchdown run.

We were all thinking it as he took off running for what was clearly going to end with him in the end zone: Will he make the same mistake, or will he hold onto the football this time? Well, Taylor did indeed hold onto the football as he put the Colts up 14-7 over their division rival... but that wasn't enough to stop him from getting trolled by the announcers.

As Taylor broke the plane and got into the end zone, play-by-play commentator Tom McCarthy exclaimed, "And he'll hold onto the ball with two hands into the end zone!"

This is a pretty funny bit from McCarthy because, come on, we were ALL thinking it. Taylor isn't the only player to have dropped the ball ahead of the goal line, preventing a touchdown, but it was a brutal mistake from the veteran running back. While the Colts might have still lost that game, that touchdown in the Denver game would have given the Colts a much cushier lead, as opposed to the one they ended up having to operate with.

If Taylor doesn't want announcers to make comments like these about him, he needs to be careful with the football on every run. Otherwise, it's fair game.
