Indianapolis Colts fans won't like the rumors coming out of Nashville, as Josina Anderson reported on her social media that the Tennessee Titans might be looking to trade Will Levis.
"I was just told these two quarterback names came up in recent preliminary* trade inquiries or internal discussions, per a league source: Kirk Cousins and Will Levis," Anderson posted on X. "The Titans would like to transition.”
The Titans trading Levis would be a bummer for Colts fans because, let's face it -- The guy has stunk it up in the NFL. Levis slipped to the Titans in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft and became the full-time starter during the second half of his rookie season. He got the keys to the car last year and, well, just look at the Titans' record if you want to know how that turned out.
This situation with the Titans is proof that while the Colts' quarterback situation isn't the best, it's far from the worst. The Titans will likely take Cam Ward first overall in next month's draft but who's to say that will work out? Meanwhile, the Colts have seen glimpses of potential from Anthony Richardson and maybe he'll be able to learn a thing or two from newly-acquired Daniel Jones.
Colts QB situation is far from the worst in the league
Levis leaving the AFC South would be a disappointment considering all of the entertainment he provided. Not only were his mayonnaise commercials a hoot (hopefully we don't lose those if he switches teams) but anytime he made a mistake like fumbled or threw a pick, he'd have the most hilarious reactions.
All of that being said, it's doubtful teams would trade much for Levis because, well -- He's not very good. At least if the Colts had decided to trade Richardson, they'd get something in return for him. Richardson has shown potential but he just needs more time to be able to put it all together. Hopefully that's coming soon.
