He needs a new team; they need a new quarterback.

If you're not paying attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, they're right back in the same spot they were at this point last season: waiting for Aaron Rodgers to decide what he wants to do when he grows up. That is tongue-in-cheek, of course, but his current situation is a bad look for him, and more importantly, the Steelers.

The Indianapolis Colts, who are set on their quarterback for the foreseeable future, have another who needs a new home and is expected to go there soon, and Anthony Richardson might be the right guy for the job in Pittsburgh, even if it's behind Rogers for a season.

Richardson hasn't worked out in Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh hasn't had a stable quarterback situation since Ben Roethlisberger. If any team in the NFL would be willing to take a chance on developing a young player as they did with Roethlisberger, Richardson might be the perfect option; at least, that's what Kay Adams believes should happen.

Kay Adams attempts to follow up one correct prediction with another regarding the Indianapolis Colts' Anthony Richardson

The rising NFL personality with her wildly popular daily show Up & Adams is only a few days fresh off of her Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals prediction. Now, whether the New York Giants were influenced by Adams' comments is far from likely; nevertheless, she was right on point with her take.

This week, Adams is attempting to nail another prediction, but one involving two parties who've been linked together for several weeks now: Richardson and the Steelers. The Colts agreed to explore a trade for their 2023 fourth-overall draft pick just as free agency began, but nothing has yet materialized.

The Steelers as a trade partner make more sense than most teams, and Adams believes that, given the current situation between the Steelers and Rogers and the cloudy aura overshadowing the franchise as it relates to their quarterback, Richardson could offer immediate and future relief.

"Go get Anthony Richardson. Go get the other AR," Adams declared on her show Up & Adams this week. "For a mid to late round pick, you can bring a guy into the building who is 23 years old, who I spoke to Chris Ballard about, who I know has unlimited upside, and you either have to let him sit behind Aaron and let him develop."

Adams would go on to say that the Steelers' trading for Richardson would not cost them a huge investment. Now, perhaps the Colts would say otherwise from their side of things, considering they used their top draft pick on Richardson, and it hasn't worked out.

Needless to say, the Steelers might offer Richardson the best opportunity to develop and become the quarterback the Colts thought they were getting. As Adams said, even if he sat behind Rogers for a year, is that the worst thing that Richardson could experience? The short answer is no.

Another plus for Richardson in Pittsburgh is Mike McCarthy, who had a massive part in Rodgers' development in the early Green Bay Packers days. Rogers sat behind Brett Favre, and McCarthy was front and center for Rodgers' growth into a Super Bowl champion, multi-MVP award winner, and eventual Hall of Fame inductee one day.

Will Richardson follow that same path under McCarthy? Again, the short answer is also no. That said, Richardson will not grow with the Colts, but he could with the Steelers. Both parties are already linked, so it might be the best time to close that link and make a trade. It could be the best-case scenario for Richardson's future in the NFL.
