Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had an incredible game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, helping break franchise records. Taylor ran for 218 yards on 29 carries, with 7.5 yards per attempt, and had three touchdowns. That includes 65- and 70-yard runs -- an achievement that only Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles has also accomplished this season.
Taylor has now been nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, alongside the Carolina Panthers' Chuba Hubbard and the Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson. He ran for more yards than either player, though, and only Hubbard has ran for more yards than Taylor this season.
After his Week 16 feat, Taylor broke the 1,000 mark for rushing yards this season, the third time in his career he's done so. Only 10 other running backs in the NFL have run for more than 1,000 yards so far this season.
FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the names of the winners for each week. Fans can vote for Taylor here.
Additionally, Taylor was named the Offensive Player of the Week by Pro Football Focus (PFF).
"Taylor rushed for over 200 yards to help the Colts stay alive in the AFC playoff race," Gordon McGuiness wrote. "Ninety-nine of his 218 rushing yards in the game came after contact, and he forced six missed tackles in the game."
He was also given the Allstate Game Ball of the Week.
And those aren't the only honors Taylor has received for his performance. He was also nominated for ESPN's HIMMY Awards. A play on the phrase "I'm Him," insinuating that a person is the best in their field, Taylor is again a Week 16 honoree. Also nominated are, again, Jefferson, as well as Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, and Ben Johnson, offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. Fans can vote for Taylor here; the results will be announced during Monday Night Football.
