It took the Colts one half to do something they haven't done since 2006

What a start!

Indianapolis Colts fans might not have had much optimism for the 2025 season and while we're only one half into a long and grueling regular season, so far, things couldn't be going much better for this squad. Yes, even with Daniel Jones starting at quarterback, the Colts took it to the Miami Dolphins, scoring 20 points in the first half while their defense allowed zero points.

The Colts had the ball four times in the first half and scored on all four drives. This, according to Scott Hanson of NFL RedZone, is the first time the Colts have scored on all four possessions of the first half since 2006 when Peyton Manning, who was in attendance for this game, was leading the charge in Indy. Hanson dropped that nugget on the NFL RedZone broadcast and it brings more light to how impressive of a half it was for the Colts.

Colts' 2025 season off to a near perfect start

The Colts started the game with the football and executed a nine-play, 62-yard drive that ended in a field goal, putting them up 3-0 early. The Dolphins' first drive ended with a Tua Tagovailoa interception, giving Indy the ball on their own 16-yard line. Fourteen plays and 84 yards later, the Colts were in the end zone for the first time of the year, scoring on a 27-yard Michael Pittman touchdown.

The Dolphins then fumbled on their next possession, once again setting the Colts up with another opportunity to score, which they took advantage of. Danny Dimes ran the ball in himself to put the good guys up 17-0. Another field goal gave them a 20-0 lead at the half and while no Colts fan is expecting this season to end up like that 2006 season did, it's always better to see your team playing well than the alternative option.
