In Indiana, the Indianapolis Colts looked to break their two-game losing streak against one of the toughest opponents they'll face this season: the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, the Colts had just suffered an embarrassing loss against the Minnesota Vikings which was all the more notable given the Anthony Richardso-Joe Flacco drama. Head coach Shane Steichen had just benched Richardson, who had started just 10 games, in favor of Flacco, who Steichen said gave the Colts a better chance at winning the rest of the season.

Unfortunately, his performance against the Vikings didn't leave many people confident about Flacco's abilities. This game was an opportunity for Flacco to redeem himself, but the first half didn't look promising.

The Bills started out the game receiving the ball, and their drive was cut short when Kwity Paye tackled Josh Allen from behind on third down, and the Colts received the ball. Unfortunately, Joe Flacco took the field and threw an interception in the very first play of the game... and it was run back for a touchdown. The pass was massively underthrown, and will undoubtedly more call into question the decision to bench Anthony Richardson in favor of Flacco, who came onot the field with boos from Colts fans.

After the touchdown, the Colts offense came back on the field to another tough drive. Flacco nailed several throws, but missed another; one of his completions went to Adonai Mitchell, who fumbled the ball. It was luckily recovered by Josh Downs. Steichen decided to go for it on 4th down, and Jonathan Taylor was able to get a first down.

On the very next play, Flacco threw another interception.

The Bills offense drove down the field, but ultimately, were kept from getting another touchdown by the Colts defense. The field goal unit came out, and the Bills racked up 10 points from turnovers in the first quarter alone.

Thankfully, the Colts' next drive started well, with Quenton Nelson blocking for Jonathan Taylor, who made an insane 59-yard run, getting the Colts into the end zone. But they came up without a touchdown, as Josh Downs couldn't manage to hold on to the ball for one pass, and then Flacco's next pass was nearly picked off... again. That left the Colts on fourth down, and Steichen sent out Matt Gay for a field goal. That brought the game to 10-3.

In the second quarter, Flacco did better, making several passes to Mitchell, Downs, and Alec Pierce. Once in the end zone, Flacco had an incompletion intended for Downs, but a defensive penalty gave the Colts the first down and continued their drive. Thankfully, the Colts were able to tie it up with a pass from Flacco to Tyler Goodson.

Josh Allen and the Bills came back onto the field, but Allen was immediately intercepted by EJ Speed, with the Colts offense taking over at the 34. Flacco handed it off to Taylor, who ran it to the end zone. From there, the Colts had a hard time, and on 3rd and six, Braden Smith had a false start, putting the Colts at 3rd and 11. Flacco connected with Downs, but was short of the first down.

Matt Gay came out again for the field goal, putting the Colts in the lead, 13-10.

During the return, the Bills fumbled the ball, which was knocked out by Ronnie Harrison. That led to a massive scramble for the ball, and lots of shoving and yelling between the Bills and the Colts on the field. Flags were thrown, but ultimately, the referees said there was no penalty and it was Buffalo's ball, despite Chris Lammons running down the field with the ball in his hands.

During that drive, Allen steadily led his offense down the field, ultimately running it in for a touchdown himself and putting the Bills in the lead, 17-13.

An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was called against the Bills for Spencer Brown, who taunted Nick Cross after he tackled Allen.

At the two-minute warning, Flacco and the Colts offense came back onto the field. Unfortunately, that drive went nowhere, and Rigoberto Sanchez came out to punt the ball away. The Bills received the ball, but initially didn't make much progress; at one point, a long pass from Allen was nearly picked off by Julian Blackmon. Then, under pressure, Allen escaped being sacked by Laiatu Latu to get a stunner of a pass and got the Bills into field goal range. With two seconds left in the game, Tyler Bass came onto the field and, at 47 yards, got another three points for the Bills.

Flacco was 8 of 13 for this game, with two interceptions and one touchdown for 87 yards. Taylor had 107 yards on 16 carries.
