The Indianapolis Colts are quite the topic among fantasy football managers.

Quarterback Daniel Jones had this offense humming before a season-ending injury in 2025 and now returns healthy for the start of camp. Jonathan Taylor is still an elite RB1, but the Colts have a new WR1 with questions surrounding whether or not he will actually function as one.

Tyler Warren should be a sure thing, but as does this entire offense, he depends heavily on the health of Jones under center.

As the Colts get into training camp and the preseason, this will be your go-to spot for all things fantasy-related.

Note: This story will be updated regularly throughout the Indianapolis Colts' training camp and preseason.

Latest Fantasy Football updates for the Colts: News, injuries and position battles

Tyler Warren poised to be consistent target -- 8/13

In this joint practice versus New England, Warren reeled in six of Daniel Jones' 12 completions. He finished with some contested catches, and it looks like Jones will target Warren even if the coverage is tight. He should be peppered with targets in 2026.

Josh Downs returned to field and his role in role takes shape -- 8/13

Downs returned to practice on Aug. 11 after dealing with a groin injury, and he is the Colts' primary slot weapon. Daniel Jones completed five passes to Downs during their joint practice against the Patriots. He's struggled as an outside receiver, meaning the bulk of his snaps will be on the inside, per Joel Erickson of the IndyStar.

Josh Downs logs DNP -- 8/8

Downs was spotted on the sidelines and not in uniform; he's dealing with a groin injury (h/t James Boyd of The Athletic).

Hopefully, this isn't a long-term issue and Downs is back with the team in short order. He has a prime opportunity to be heavily featured in the Colts' passing attack. His status is especially crucial since No. 1 wideout Alec Pierce doesn't have a timetable to return from offseason left ankle surgery just yet.

Alec Pierce remains sidelined -- 8/6

Head coach Shane Steichen was asked when Pierce would return after left ankle surgery, but there wasn't a timeline given. "His rehab’s going great, I’ll say that. ... I don’t have the timetable on his return, but he’s doing a hell of a job in his rehab process," Steichen said.

Daniel Jones looks great physically -- 8/6

While Jones underwent surgery to repair his torn Achilles, the quarterback has looked great in camp. Colts Roundtable’s Jake Arthur reported that he's taken off full speed on some scrambles while being efficient throwing the ball. He's kept the offense on schedule, which is ideal for Jones coming off a major injury.

Jonathan Taylor lands big money extension -- 8/6

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Indianapolis and Taylor agreed to terms on a two-year, $44 million extension that can go up to $47 million. The extension has $39 million guaranteed and keeps him in Indy through 2028.

Seth McGowan has been a pleasant surprise in camp -- 8/5

The seventh-round rookie has made plays throughout camp. The Athletic’s James Boyd says McGowan's style is "decisive and violent” and thinks he has a really good chance of winning the RB2 job over DJ Giddens. He has good vision and has wasted no time getting upfield.

Tyler Warren continues to be a reliable option -- 8/3

With Alec Pierce sidelined, Warren has been a consistent target for Daniel Jones. He's been able to create separation and gives Jones a big target. Warren will be a focal point in the passing game.

Daniel Jones in 'consistent rhythm' -- 8/1

Jones went 14-of-17 on Day 4 (h/t 107.5 The Fan's Kevin Bowen). He spearheaded a "nice, methodical drive late in practice with [six] consecutive completions."

The Achilles injury that cut Jones' strong inaugural campaign in Indy short appears to be a non-issue. He's impressively "taken every single starting rep, with no obvious limitations to his mobility/performance, making him a potential bargain at QB25 in average draft position (ADP).

DJ Giddens took 'majority' of first-team reps without Jonathan Taylor -- 7/31

Taylor, who's notably in the middle of contract extension talks, took a rest day. It was Giddens who benefited the most, logging the bulk of the starter snaps (h/t Abby Halpin of the Colts' official site).

Giddens is competing with seventh-round rookie Seth McGowan for the Colts' backup running back gig. Their battle bears watching, especially if Taylor's negotiations go awry.

Alec Pierce no longer walking with a limp -- 7/30

According to The Athletic's James Boyd, Alec Pierce was on the sidelines playing catch with Reggie Wayne. Most notably, he is no longer walking with a limp and looks much-improved compared to the spring.

Daniel Jones scrambling comfortably on Day 1 of Colts training camp -- 7/29

"I felt like I made a lot of good progress the last six weeks ... it felt good out there today," Jones told the Colts media today.

Jones was asked multiple times about his ability to scramble and the instances he was able to do that during practice, saying he felt comfortable and had made noticeable progress since the spring. It certailny appears Jones is just about back to full strength, which is fantastic news for fantasy managers.

Alec Pierce indeed out on Day 1 of training camp -- 7/29

No surprise, as we were told Pierce would miss part of camp due to recovering from offseason ankle surgery. But, he was indeed a non-participant on Day 1.

Daniel Jones feels 'really good' on the eve of camp -- 7/27

As for Pierce's quarterback Daniel Jones, coming off an Achilles tear, he is ready to rock and roll after having been cleared.

"I feel good. Really good. Excited to get going. We report tomorrow (Monday), first practice Wednesday, so good to go. I'm excited to get rolling," Jones said, courtesy of Senior NFL writer Kevin Patra.

From earlier this summer on Alec Pierce

Alec Pierce has fantasy managers in constant debate after his big contract this offseason, but first he'll need to get back on the field after an offseason ankle surgery. Head coach Shane Steichen said he expects Pierce back "at some point in training camp," so we'll have to monitor his situation each day.
