The Indianapolis Colts have been dominating the 2025 season, shocking fans and analysts alike as expectations had previously been low. There are numerous units that are thriving, with Daniel Jones leading the offense, Tyler Warren breaking records left and right, and the defense finally thriving after a disappointing 2024 season.

There is only one potential downside, and that's the reality that the Colts haven't faced many real challenges yet. In Week 7, the Colts will be traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers, and it will be one of their first tests as to whether or not this Cinderella story is legit or not.

Thankfully, there is one unit that will give the Colts a huge boost as they prepare for the Chargers. After yet another victory in Week 6, the Indianapolis offensive line has been ranked the best in the NFL, and the timing could not be better.

The Indianapolis Colts offensive line is peaking at just the right time

Pro Football Focus (subscription required) released its ranking for each offensive line in the league heading into Week 7, with the Colts increasing from No. 2 to No. 1. While Matt Goncalves was the weak spot on the line, as a whole, the unit was still exceptional.

"The Colts' offensive line dominated the Cardinals in the team's Week 6 win. The unit provided the week's highest-graded offensive tackle, highest-graded guard and highest-graded center. Bernhard Raimann’s 86.9 PFF overall grade, Quenton Nelson’s 90.1 PFF overall grade and Tanor Bortolini’s 85.3 PFF overall grade all led their positions."

To no one' surprise, Quenton Nelson was the best-rated player among the offensive line, as he is easily one of the best guards in the league. But the Colts' offensive line being the best in the league couldn't come at a more important time.

The success story Indianapolis has been able to make out of Daniel Jones and the offense is nothing short of miraculous. Short of Jonathan Taylor and a handful of other players here and there, the Colts didn't have much to boast of as offensive playmakers, and expectations were markedly low with Jones at the helm.

Instead, Shane Steichen has been able to work some magic with Jones and turn this offense into one of the best in the league. And while the offensive line is - regardless of team - the unit that goes unnoticed and unacknowledged, the reality is, a team can't succeed without a good o-line protecting their quarterback and opening up routes to run.

And the Colts' offensive line is succeeding in every metric possible. So with Jones set to take on one of Indy's first real challenges this season, knowing he has such a monster offensive line in front of him makes success that much more likely.
