New York Giants fans, you might already know this, but here is the harsh reality. When it comes to new Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones, his failure in New York was not his own, but the team's. He seems just fine with Indy.
He proved that again in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. Through the first two games, Jones' offense wasn't forced to punt. Indianapolis also won its first three games for the first time since 2009. The improved quarterback play was a huge reason for it.
Instead of heaving passes high in the air near the end of games in hoping for a splash play as Russell Wilson did for the Giants after having a very good game, Jones stays poised and under control. He doesn't look lost, plays as if he has been a six-year success, and understands what the offense is designed to do.
Daniel Jones continues to stun as the Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback
In Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, Jones threw a touchdown pass, had two more running, and moved around in the pocket exceedingly well. He was sacked just once.
Against a better Denver Broncos team in Week 2, Jones was maybe even more efficient. So was his offense that scored just enough to win the game with a last-second field goal.
Daniel Jones makes something out of nothing for 17 yards

In Week 3 against the not-great but feisty Tennessee Titans, Jones proved how well he can make would-be pass rushers miss. On one play in the first quarter, Indiana Jones, Danny Dimes, or whatever you want to call him, dropped back, felt pressure quickly, moved to his left, maybe a tackler miss, and scrambled for a 17-yard gain.
It wasn't the play that a bad quarterback would make. It didn't appear to be the kind of play that a current Giants quarterback could make. New York is probably missing Daniel Jones at this point, but Jones isn't missing them.
He understands the chance he has been given with the Indianapolis Colts in 2025, which was one many fans didn't expect. The Tennessee Titans learned that, too. Nashville's team will have to face Jones twice a year for the foreseeable future, as Indy will almost certainly have to re-sign him unless something awful happens.
In Indianapolis' Week 3 victory against the Titans, Jones finished 18 of 25 passing for 228 yards and a touchdown. Once again, he didn't turn the ball over. Indianapolis Colts fans should be getting used to those kinds of numbers, while New York Giants fans learn to miss Jones.
