Indianapolis Colts 2026 schedule release date rumors, leaks, opponents and more

Indianapolis Colts fans won't be surprised by who their favorite team plays in the 2026 season. The NFL cuts any drama out by having a rotation of when divisions play other divisions. For instance, next season, Indy will take on the teams from the AFC North and NFC East, as well as the usual playing each AFC South team twice.

What fans didn't know until the NFL officially released its schedule on Thursday, May 14, at 8 pm ET, was when and where the Colts might play games. Everyone had to hope there was a leak or rumor (one is confirmed by a legitimate source, and the other isn't) about when Indianapolis will play.

Indianapolis Colts 2026 schedule rumors

The Indianapolis Colts might not have Daniel Jones early in the season as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon (or they might), but that seemingly isn't stopping the NFL from giving Indy some glamor games. That appears to include the Colts playing the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 on Sunday Night Football, according to Ozzy NFL.

The above, of course, is a rumor for now and not confirmed. But it is likely to be true when the schedule is officially released.

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team's repost of a tweet from Bobby Skinner of a random Giants podcast (whew; that's all true), Indy will host the Giants in Week 12.

Various rumors on X point to Indianapolis traveling to play the Houston Texans in Week 11. This will be one of two meetings between the team, of course.

NFL Nerd is stating that the Colts will open their season at Lucas Oil Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens. That means Indy could open the season with two games at home.

Another international game?

While Indy's AFC South rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars, have a second home in London, as they play multiple games there seemingly every year, and one can eventually see the team moving there if the NFL expands overseas, the Colts might be playing another game internationally in the coming season, too.

Indy played in Berlin, Germany, last season, of course, and then things went south after that. This time, according to a social media handle called OzzyNFL, the Colts will be traveling to London themselves to take on those feisty Washington Commanders in Week 4 on October 4.

As for the Jags, they are rumored to be playing back-to-back weeks in mid-October, including playing the Houston Texans on October 18 in London.
