Colts show why they have no business making the playoffs despite win over Patriots

Yes, they won, but...

The Indianapolis Colts might have taken down the New England Patriots to move to 6-7 on the year but this still doesn't look like a playoff team. They narrowly beat a bad Patriots team and it took them the final minute to get past said bad Patriots team.

While some might point to a team like the Chiefs narrowly beating bad teams every week, the Colts are not the Chiefs. They haven't won a playoff game since the 2018 season and even though they won this game and slightly increased their playoff chances, this team has shown that they have no business being in the postseason.

Anthony Richardson had a very Anthony Richardson-esque game, completing half of his pass attempts for just 109 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing for another 48 yards and a score. He also had the game-winning two-point conversion with 12 seconds on the clock.

Colts might have won but they're not a playoff team

The Colts have been a very inconsistent team all season and fans were hoping to see more consistency from Shane Steichen and his coaching staff by this point. Sadly, that has not been the case in Year 2.

The play calling in this game was confusing, Richardson continued to be hit-and-miss, and fans were left scratching their head at how with all of the talent on this team, they couldn't blow out a bad Patriots team. It took the final 15 seconds for the Colts to be able to win the game against a three-win Patriots squad and if they can barely beat a bad team, imagine how bad they'd fare against a playoff team.

Of course, it'd be nice if the Colts proved me wrong by going on a run to close out the season and surpassing the Broncos in the playoff standings but this team just doesn't look capable of doing that. And maybe that's not such a terrible thing for this team.
