For many fans, the NFL schedule release is just one more exciting milestone to hit before the season kicks off. But, one expert was set out to destroy the hopes of Indianapolis Colts fans right away.
Soon after the schedules were released across the league, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton put together a column with predictions for all 32 teams.
When it was time for the Colts, it wasn't exactly rainbows and butterflies.
Moton predicted the Colts to go a miserable 4-13 over the course of the 2025 season.
Quarterbacks will be in the spotlight all season long for the Colts
"Don't be surprised if the Colts make midseason calls for quarterbacks on the trade block," wrote Moton.
It's hard not to argue, here. So far, what we have seen out of Anthony Richardson is a significantly-unpolished quarterback who has glaring issues. The innacuracy, at times, can be baffling.
Decision-making is often questionable.
The athleticism and dual-threat ability can be fun, but more often than not, the bad outweighs the good.
Ironically enough, we could be describing Daniel Jones at the same time. The Colts brought Jones in to compete with Richardson, but maybe without realizing it, they brought two of the same quarterbacks together in one room.
It doesn't necessarily matter who the starting quarterback is to begin the year. At some point, there is bound to be a change.
And, once the change is made, it probably won't take long for the Colts to realize they don't have a solution on their roster at all.
The positive news is, should the Colts go 4-13, they would have a decent shot at finishing with the no. 1 overall pick. For those unfamiliar with the 2026 quarterback class, that would give the Colts a strong chance at landing Arch Manning.
Think about it.
To end up with another Manning, would fans be fine if the Colts had to endure a 4-13 campaign?
I'd venture to say so.
