The Indianapolis Colts may have already given up on the season, or so it seemed on their trip to Jacksonville. With some of the team's best players already in new places, morale might be at an all-time low in the building.

The Jaguars were hungrier, tougher, better, and more prepared for this matchup. With the trades and the loss, the Colts are now sitting at 2-6 and have no first-round pick, so things may not get better any time soon.

Unfortunately, even when some guys tried to compete at the highest level, others just didn't show up to play in Week 8. Considering that, let's take a look at the four players who struggled the most in the loss to the Jaguars.

4 Indianapolis Colts players who cost them in Week 8 vs. the Jaguars

Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones has officially played his way out of Indianapolis. The wide receivers couldn't create separation, but he also failed to put them in position to succeed, get easy completions, or make good reads downfield.

Jones has been terrible this season, and there's simply no way to justify bringing him back for another year. Anthony Richardson might not be better, but the Colts should at least consider giving him one final chance.

Tyler Warren

Tyler Warren entered the season as the most-hyped guy on the team, yet he's barely been a factor. He hasn't been the ball-winning bully the Colts advertised, and he's struggled to complete routine plays. He was 100 percent responsible for Daniel Jones' first pick of the game.

It's hard to blame him, given that he's been hurt and that his quarterback hasn't been good at all, but still. He was targeted a team-high 10 times, but he only secured four receptions for 18 yards. How does that even happen?

Akeem Davis-Gaither

Akeem Davis-Gaither has been pretty bad this season, and he probably wouldn't start on any defense not coached by Lou Anarumo. Notably, he had another disaster-class against Liam Coen's defense, both on the ground and in coverage.

Davis-Gaither missed a couple of tackles and didn't do much but get some light cardio going while Brenton Strange and Brian Thomas Jr. hauled in passes right in front of him. He might be carrying the green dot, but he should be off the field in Week 9.

Jonathan Taylor

It's time to tell it like it is: This hasn't been a good season for Jonathan Taylor. His efficiency is down, and while he deserves a ton of respect for wanting to stay on the team amid the struggles, he may not be in the best headspace right now. It's hard to blame him for it, but still.

The game script didn't favor him, and Quenton Nelson isn't in the building anymore. That said, watching him run for 23 yards on eight carries (2.9 YPC), with 19 of those yards coming in a single play, was baffling. He also lost a fumble. Hopefully, this won't be the last time we see him in a Colts uniform.
