This weekend, Indianapolis Colts legend Peyton Manning participated in the 29th annual Manning Passing Academy, a tradition beloved by the football world. During the four-day clinic, the Manning family, along with other coaches and players, work with high school quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends to help them learn the basic fundamentals of football. Though it's not an autograph session, a big draw for many aspiring football players is the chance to meet and learn from all four Mannings: Archie, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli.
However, the attention wasn't solely on the camp itself. Pat McAfee, another Colts alum, re-tweeted a photo of the Mannings together as camp was set to start, commenting, "This family has done so much for football."

Many people, however, couldn't help but notice that one person's appearance stood out a little, and that was none other than Peyton himself. While present and smiling, he also seemed to be... a little worse for the wear, leading some to question if he had a wild night before starting camp bright and early the next day.
And during today's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Peyton was a featured guest, and McAfee being... well, McAfee, he couldn't resist but pointing out the comments about his appearance.

"Let's talk about a summer tradition for the last 29 years, Manning Passing Academy," McAfee began. "Obviously, you're fresh out of the most recent one. How was the weekend down there? A lot of people saying it looked like maybe you boozed a little bit the night before this photo."
Peyton took it all in good fun, laughing... and also admitted that he may have enjoyed a beer or two. But ever the professional, he also said it would never stop him from doing his job.
"Part of playing quarterback is having a few Bud Lights on an off night, but you're at the 8 o'clock staff meeting the next morning, right?" he said. "If you're going to soar with the eagles, as my dad said, if you're going to hoop with the owls, you've got to soar with the eagles, so it's kind of a good sign for a quarterback if you're there at that 8 o'clock meeting. We had perfect attendance at every 8 o'clock meeting. Hasn't always been the case in years past, certain quarterbacks, and maybe that was a good sign that maybe they weren't ready to play quarterback."
And there you have it!
