To say that the Indianapolis Colts haven't performed as expected this season would be an understatement. If anything, the fact that Shane Steichen hasn't been fired is somewhat surprising, all things considered.

Chris Ballard wasn't that fortunate, though. The Colts' general manager was relieved of his duties after years of underperformance. This raised the stakes, but the clock is ticking, and this team might need a miracle to turn things around.

Considering that, and with some of their best players set to hit free agency, the Colts have been sellers ahead of the November 10 trade deadline. With that in mind, let's take a look at the team's top free agents and their current picture.

Checking in on some key 2027 Indianapolis Colts free agents after Week 7

Grover Stewart has a golden opportunity

With DeForest Buckner no longer in the building, the Colts' defensive front will rely heavily on Grover Stewart. He might not be used to that type of responsibility, but additional exposure can always help guys in contract years.

Stewart isn't a superstar by any means, and not many defensive tackles will cash in on big deals once they turn 33. That said, finishing the season strong without Buckner by his side might be just enough to get him a new deal.

Will there be a market for Anthony Richardson?

It's hard to envision a scenario where Anthony Richardson is back in Indianapolis if he can't even get on the field to compete with this version of Daniel Jones. But that doesn't mean his journey in the NFL is over. Once he hits free agency, multiple teams should be interested.

Now that they won't have to sign him to a lofty extension as a former first-round pick, teams can actually take their time to develop him. The physical tools and youth are still there, so he'll definitely get an opportunity.

Keenan Allen might not be back for another year

To say that Keenan Allen's addition has been disappointing would probably be a big understatement. If anything, he hasn't been much of a factor, and while that's normal for a player his age, it has still been somewhat disheartening.

Given how long it took him to find a new home and the fact that he only joined the Colts because of his familiarity with Shane Steichen, it's hard to believe he'll be back next season. Moreover, it's possible he won't even get another contract before that one-day deal to retire as a Charger.
