Colts fans can’t argue with where Daniel Jones ended up in recent rankings

Hard to argue with this logic.

Daniel Jones looked to be on track to turn his entire career around last year with the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately, an Achilles injury midway through the season cost the Colts big time, and now they're hoping they can get the 2025 version of Jones when he eventually does take the field for them in 2026.

The fact of the matter is that no one knows what version of Jones the Colts will be getting in 2026. Will he be the Indiana Jones that fans loved watching before his injury? Or will we see the version of him when he was with the Giants? Only time will tell.

Because Jones' return provides a lot of uncertainty, no one should be surprised to see where Jones ended up on Owen Smith of Arrowhead Addict's quarterback rankings. Smith ranked every quarterback on the Kansas City Chiefs' schedule in 2026 and had Jones at No. 9.

"With Jones coming off a serious injury, combined with his declining performance down the stretch, there are more questions than answers surrounding the Colts quarterback."

Colts fans shouldn't be surprised by Daniel Jones' latest placement

Well said. Smith also broke down how dominant Jones was earlier in the season versus how he struggled in the games leading up to his injury. He made great points, and that's why the No. 9 ranking is a fair one for Danny Dimes as much as Colts fans wish he'd be higher up on the list.

For those wondering, the eight quarterbacks ahead of Jones are Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, Drake Maye, Justin Herbert, Sam Darnold, Brock Purdy, and Bo Nix.

Some Colts fans might think that Jones deserves to be ahead of a few of those guys, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Darnold just won a Super Bowl, Purdy has been to a Super Bowl, and Nix nearly made it to a Super Bowl during just his second year in the league. Jones hasn't done any of those things.

Hopefully, Jones can prove the doubters wrong and bounce back in a big way in 2026. If he can, the Colts should be in decent shape moving forward. That's the dream at least.
