Colts can only watch as Robert Saleh's biggest mistake dooms his Titans tenure

This will backfire.

To say that the Tennesssee Titans weren't good last season would be a massive understatement. The Indianapolis Colts didn't even sweat sweeping the season series, and they closed out the year with a 3-14 record.

Considering that, they hired former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh to be their new boss. Saleh has a successful track record as a defensive guru, but his tenure in the Big Apple was far from successful.

That's why it was only right that he brought another guy who also failed to get the job done in New York with him. And, as pointed out by FanSided's Jake Beckman, hiring Brian Daboll to be his offensive coordinator will age like milk left out of the fridge.

The Indianapolis Colts will enjoy watching the Titans' implosion

"Daboll is a lunatic and will yell at everyone at any moment during the game. Whereas Robert Saleh is a lunatic and will yell at everyone at any moment during the game," Beckman wrote. "...This whole thing is like mixing oil and the Gulf Coast: It’s naturally going to be a disaster."

Daboll's fiery personality rubbed plenty of people the wrong way during his days with the New York Giants. Likewise, Saleh didn't hesitate to get in the opposing coaches' and referees' faces when he was calling the shots. This can either be a match made in heaven between two guys needing anger management therapy, or they'll throw hands by Week 2.

Also, as Beckman pointed out, they're both focused on different units, and bringing different philosophies to the table could lead to a power struggle that, ultimately, will only hurt the locker room and the team.

Of course, that's great news for the Colts. On paper, the Titans should be one of the most-improved teams in the game, not only because of a more experienced coaching staff but because of the plethora of talent they added on both sides of the field.

From two potential WR1s in Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson to veteran defenders like John Franklin-Myers and Alontae Taylor, the Titans should be able to win much more than just three games in 2026. That's, of course, unless the two hot-headed coaches go at it and blow things up in the locker room.

We've seen how a dysfunctional dynamic and having two alphas who don't look eye-to-eye can destroy any organization. If that's going to be the case in the AFC South, it might as well be with a divisional rival.
