The Indianapolis Colts got insanely lucky in the first round of the NFL Draft. Despite all odds, they were able to take Penn State tight end Tyler Warren. There was high interest in Warren from multiple teams across the league, and most analysts predicted he would get snapped up before the Colts had a chance to sign him, but luckily, that was not the case.

There is no doubting that Warren will be a huge asset to the offense. He will likely work well with quarterback Anthony Richardson and the Colts, giving Richardson will have more lanes to run in, and a dynamic tight end who can give him another reliable option to throw to. The Colts tight end room has been notoriously bad in recent years, so while Richardson has had some of his own struggles, he hasn't always had the most help from his offense.

With Warren now on the roster, the issues with the Colts' tight end unit will hopefully begin to improve. The biggest issues needing to be addressed in the rest of the draft are on the offensive line and the defense.

The Colts round 2 pick is...

JT Tuimoloau from Ohio State!

The Colts have one of the best defensive tackles in the league, in DeForest Buckner, who plays alongside Grover Stewart. Both are fantastic players, but the reality is, they - and Buckner in particular - are getting older. Bringing in a rookie DT gives the defensive line more depth, and lets Tuimoloau get some snaps in and develop, potentially giving him the opportunity to step in as Buckner's successor. In the immediate future, he might end up replacing Kwity Paye if a contract extension isn't worked out.

Tuimoloau is a strong athlete, known for being able to collaps the pocket, and has a lot of versatility - which is right up defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo's alley. It's a good pick that is another step towards rebuilding the Colts defense.
