Indianapolis Colts left tackle Bernhard Raimann left the field in the first quarter of their game against the Buffalo Bills. He reportedly suffered a knee injury, and is questionable to return.

Raimann was replaced by Matt Goncalves, meaning there are three rookies on the offensive line. Previously, the Colts have had one of the best o-lines in the NFL, but it has recently been decimated by injuries. Raimann himself had just come off of concussion protocol.

Originally from Austria, Raimann began playing American football for the Vienna Vikings. After completing his compulsory military service in Austria, he played football at Central Michigan University. He began his collegiate career at tight end, before being moved to offensive tackle. He was named Offensive Player of the Year for the Mid-American Conference by Pro Football Focus in 2021.

Raimann was selected by the Colts in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft, and took over the starting left tackle position that season from Matt Pryor, starting 11 of the final 13 games. In 2023, he played 15 games and saw a lot of improvement, committing fewer penalties, and allowing less sacks; he has been even more impressive so far this season, making his potential loss for the rest of the game a big problem for the Colts.
