After a rough start to the season, Shane Steichen's Indianapolis Colts have gotten right back on track with two big wins. Admittedly, the last two games have been a bit of a tough watch, but they've gotten the job done.
The Colts desperately needed to stop the bleeding after starting the season 0-2, especially given how last season ended. Now, while there's still plenty to clean up, they're in a much better spot than some of their competitors.
That's especially the case in their own division. With two winless teams out of four contestants, the Colts should feel great about themselves and their chances of not only returning to the playoffs but also winning the AFC South.
AFC South power rankings: The Indianapolis Colts keep climbing
4. Tennessee Titans (0-4)
This one isn't much of a surprise. The Tennessee Titans overhauled their roster and hired Robert Saleh and Brian Daboll to help Cam Ward's development, but the former No. 1 pick has raised more questions than answers thus far, and their defense, while improved, is still in the middle of the pack.
Barring a shocking turn of events, this team will be looking at another top-five draft pick in 2027. And given the baffling lack of improvement on either side of the field, the Saleh regime could even go one-and-done in Music City.
3. Houston Texans (0-4)
Most rankings had the Houston Texans' defense as the best in football this season. Talking heads and pundits also had DeMeco Ryans' team as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, yet they haven't won a single game in the first month of the regular season.
While C.J. Stroud and the offense have been surprisingly proficient, their hard-hitting defense has been a shell of its former self, giving up 30+ points in half of their games. They still have plenty of talent and should finish the season on a high note, but through the first four games, there's nothing to brag about in Houston.
2. Indianapolis Colts (2-2)
Daniel Jones hasn't played his best brand of football this season. There have been some alarming signs of regression back to his old New York Giants ways, and that will definitely warrant a conversation at some point. But for now, the team is winning.
Jonathan Taylor is still a superstar and the most underrated running back in football, and while the passing game has yet to take off, things should be better once they're back to full strength. They clearly miss Alec Pierce.
As for the defense, DeForest Buckner has turned back the clock with back-to-back elite performances, and even the linebacker corps has played better after two dreadful games to start the season.
Sauce Gardner is still leaving plenty to be desired, but the secondary has also looked better. Justin Walley is finding his footing in the slot, and it looks like Lou Anarumo's unit is finally trending in the right direction.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)
The Jacksonville Jaguars are living up to the expectations. They were the most balanced team in the division, and Liam Coen continues to bring out the best in Trevor Lawrence, even after letting their workhorse running back leave in free agency.
The Jaguars are for real, and while they're not particularly elite at anything, they don't have many glaring flaws, either. That said, this team has always found ways to shoot itself in the foot, so it should be just a matter of time before they're back to their old ways. They're a problem, but anything can happen in divisional games.
