Most of the Colts' Offseason Panic this year has been solely reserved for Anthony Richardson. It's starting to feel like maybe Richardson just isn't going to be The Guy, and this season looks to be his last chance to make his case in Indianapolis. (When you go into training camp in a QB battle with Daniel Jones, the writing's kinda on the wall.)

But how would you feel if there was another Colts' star who found himself under the microscope this season? Even more pessimistic than you already do? Terrific, well this is the blog for you then. ESPN's Ben Solak took a deep dive into all the notable Year 2 wide receivers heading into this season, and for some reason just had to write about how big of a concern Adonai Mitchell is for the Colts. It's the type of offseason content that makes you wonder if reading offseason content is really all that worth it.
ESPN officially sounds the alarm on Adonai Mitchell ahead of his *second* year in NFL
"Mitchell struggled mightily last season. We saw bad routes, bad drops, mental errors and clear moments of frustration. But it's not too hard to see the source of his frustration. Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson struggled to connect with all of his receivers, but he struggled most with Mitchell. Mitchell was used as a shot-play merchant; he was targeted on 40% of his routes against man coverage and averaged 3.9 air yards per route run, behind only New Orleans' Rashid Shaheed. He probably will remain as such while stuck behind Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs and now tight end Tyler Warren in the pecking order."
It's not that Solak is specifically wrong about any of this, it's just that I simply have no interest in hearing it. Colts fans have to deal with the passing game issues enough during the actual season, the offseason is supposed to just be about sending Tyler Warren expectations through the roof. Now is not the time for panic – that comes later. So maybe just let this one pass you by and wait for the next dozen Colts panic articles that show up between now and Week 1. I promise you they'll be there when you're ready for them.
