1. Colts can sign Allen Lazard

A lot of people are focused on the Green Bay Packers because everyone is curious about Aaron Rodgers’ future. Will he retire, return for another season with Green Bay, or request a trade? No one knows, including Rogers. However, not everyone is worried about it either. Rodgers’ teammate, Allen Lazard made that clear when he was asked at the end of the season.

The reason Lazard isn’t too worried about what Rodgers has going on is that Lazard has to figure out what his next step is. In the same interview, Lazard pretty much alluded to the fact that he’s unlikely to return to the Packers. Since he will enter free agency, the question becomes what team makes sense for him?

The Indianapolis Colts surely should be willing to welcome Lazard. Lazard is coming off a season where he played in 15 games and caught 60 passes for 788 yards and six touchdowns. That continued a trend of pretty much increasing his production every season he’s been in the league. In his five years with the Packers, Lazard played in 57 total games and caught 169 passes for 2,236 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Lazard would bring depth and consistency to Indianapolis and would be another big-body receiving threat added to Indy’s offense. Adding a receiver like Lazard into the mix will help the Colts start to turn their offense around.
