Defensive players in the Senior Bowl the Colts should scout
Flip to the other side of the ball, there is an immense amount of talent that could fit right in on the Colts’ defense. The defense was the best unit for Indianapolis this past season but it still has room for growth. Indy will be in search of some depth pieces defensively and probably a few players that can compete to start. Here are some of the tempo-setting defensive linemen that Indy should watch.
- EDGE Isaiah Foskey – Notre Dame
- EDGE Derrick Hall – Auburn
- EDGE Will McDonald IV – Iowa State
- EDGE Yaya Diaby – Louisville
- DT Zacch Pickens – South Carolina
There can never be too much pass rush. The Colts also have a decision to make about Yannick Ngakoue before free agency hits. They could re-sign him and keep him in Indy or they can let him walk and try to replace him. Regardless of the decision, Indy has to admire what these young guns are showing.

- LB Henley Daiyan – Washington State
- LB Nick Hampton – App State
- LB Dorian Williams – Tulane
There’s also Henley Daiyan, a huge under-the-radar prospect who has been consistently improving each practice day. Daiyan can fit right into a depth role at any LB position and could make an immediate Special Teams impact for the Colts. He moves around the field smoothly and has shown some great coverage ability thus far.
Indy has one of the best linebacker units in the NFL and one of the best special teams units in the league. The way to keep both units impressive is to keep adding young talent to learn from the veterans that have set the standard.
The defensive backfield is one of the more important groups for the Colts and the league as a whole. Indy has a lot of young talent in guys like Isaiah Rodgers, Rodney Thomas II, and Nick Cross, and also respected veterans like Stephon Gilmore and Kenny Moore II. However, Indianapolis still needs depth and some of the veterans may soon be moving on, so it’s important to have possible replacements developing.
- CB Kyu Blu Kelly – Stanford
- CB Darius Rush – South Carolina
