1. Samson Ebukam – San Francisco 49ers

This could be a dark-horse candidate for the Indianapolis Colts that could produce tenfold. Samson Ebukam has put together a good two seasons with the 49ers after moving on from the Los Angeles Rams. He moved from an outside linebacker to an edge position with San Francisco and would fit nicely opposite Kwity Paye.

In his two seasons with the Niners, he started 26 games and appeared in 32. He recorded 9.5 sacks, 74 total tackles, and 24 QB hits. In his four seasons and 64 games with the Rams, he totaled 14 sacks, 150 total tackles, and 28 QB hits. Ebukam has been on the rise since 2020 and has seen the field more and more with each passing season. In a defensive-end free agency class that may be overcrowded with veterans, Ebukam may stick out as a younger, less risky signing.

He is only 27 years old and coming off a two-year $12 million contract with San Francisco. His market value is low right now only averaging out to $7-8 million a year. Indianapolis could lock Ebukam up on a multi-year deal in the hopes that he starts to hit his peak in years 27-30. Ebukam has very little injury risk and has a decent floor and a high ceiling. Honestly, he may be the safest option for the Colts as far as risk-return goes. Ebukam could benefit from a team like Indianapolis that could potentially undergo a retool and be a great addition to an already up-and-coming defense.
