The Indianapolis Colts will be challenged by a talented Minnesota Vikings offense on Saturday and Indy will be without a couple of corners.
The Saturday afternoon matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings was already shaping up to be a tough one for Indy. Not only is Minnesota entering the game at 10-3 while the Colts are 4-8-1, but the Vikings have one of the best receivers in football: Justin Jefferson. It’s always a big challenge trying to slow Jefferson down but to make matters worse for Indianapolis, the defense will be down two corners on Saturday.
As Saturday’s game approached, the Colts announced that slot corner, Kenny Moore, and cornerback, Brandon Facyson, will both be sidelined as Indy tries to pull off an upset. Moore, still dealing with the ankle injury that he sustained in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, is missing his second straight game. Facyson is being held out after battling an illness all week.
Colts injury report for Week 15 game against Vikings
In addition to Moore and Facyson, the only other player expected to miss Saturday’s game is wide receiver Mike Strachan, as he has a concussion. Otherwise, the Colts will be playing one of the healthiest games they have all year and the bye week is to thank for that. Indianapolis’ injury report went from nine names in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys to just four names for the game in Minnesota.
Unfortunately, the majority of the remaining injuries are to a group that will be in the spotlight on Saturday. Without Kenny Moore and Brandon Facyson, Tony Brown and Isaiah Rodgers will likely see all of the reps, with Stephon Gilmore still holding down one side of the field. Rodgers has been playing great all year, so fans will definitely be excited to see him play a full game.
It’s going to take a full effort from the defense on Saturday as the secondary will try and contain Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and company, while the front seven will focus on shutting down Dalvin Cook.
This wild scenario could eliminate the Colts from playoff contention in Week 15
Depending on the outcome of several games, the Indianapolis Colts could be eliminated from playoff contention after Week 15.
