With the Indianapolis Colts in the midst of an underwhelming season, something that Zaire Franklin said earlier in the year is aging poorly.
Zaire Franklin is one of the vocal leaders for the Indianapolis Colts and has been for the last few years. Zaire Franklin has never been afraid to voice his thoughts and that’s even more clear now as he’s having a breakout season. Often times during Indy’s games, Franklin’s voice can be caught on mics as he communicates with the Colts’ defense or talks trash to opposing teams. However, when losing like the Colts have been doing this season, trash talk can sometimes be ammunition for other teams and their fan base. That’s what’s currently happening to Franklin right now.
Back during training camp, the Colts hosted the Detroit Lions for joint practices ahead of the two’s preseason game against each other. With the Lions being featured on “Hard Knocks”, the NFL Films’ camera crew was present to capture the intensity of a joint practice. One of the biggest moments that caught fire on social media was the battle between Franklin and Detroit’s running back Jamaal Williams. Franklin and Williams went back and forth during practice, and after NFL Films posted the footage to social media, the battle went to Twitter.
Franklin called Williams a bum and told him to be “ready to cry about another losing season.” Well, with the Colts staring at a losing season in its eyes, Lions fans are letting Franklin know they haven’t forgotten about his poorly aging words.
14 weeks into the season and the Lions have a better record than the Colts and Jamaal Williams leads the league in rushing TDs. https://t.co/GQdyHx4SIy

Lions fans may be getting the last laugh over Zaire Franklin
After 14 Weeks, the Colts are 4-8-1 and Detroit is 6-7 and in the playoff mix for the NFC. As the tweet mentioned, Jamaal Williams is leading the NFL with 14 rushing touchdowns and he also has 806 rushing yards. Williams is having a good season, and so far, the Lions are doing better than Indianapolis. That’s something that Franklin, nor many other people, saw coming.
In fairness to Zaire Franklin though, the Lions very well still could have another losing season. Additionally, while the team success hasn’t been there for the Colts, Franklin is having the best season of his career. He’s currently fourth in the NFL with 131 tackles and also has one sack, one forced fumble, 12 stuffs, and four pass deflections. He has been great feeling in for Shaquille Leonard and has led a pretty good defense.
While that’s all true, it’s not enough to stop Lions fans from trolling him as they try and make the playoffs while the Colts may be heading for a top pick in the Draft.

These 3 longtime Colts players may have to prove they belong in Indy beyond this season
With the regular season nearing its end, some veterans of the Indianapolis Colts need to take advantage of the final four games.
