Draft season is finally here for Indianapolis

It’s every sports media person’s favorite time of the year when their team is no longer in contention for anything important. Where do the Colts sit after falling to 7-9-1 this season, which is about four more losses than originally expected from Indy?

As mentioned, Indianapolis fell to 14th in the draft order after defeating the Houston Texans for pride in Week 18. Those teams that need a quarterback that draft ahead of the Colts are the Texans, Lions, Panthers, and Rams. One could say that maybe the Raiders could start thinking about the future.

There are several teams that are sitting comfortably in the top 15 of the NFL Draft, and Indy is not one of them. With the Jaguars, Bears, Eagles, Cardinals, and Steelers having their franchise quarterback, that opens many up for trades or taking the best available player.

Indianapolis could be looking at QB3-5 in the draft this year and the difference is significant. Indy needs to make a big move this offseason to put an end to the quarterback carousel and to find the franchise’s QB of the future.
