The Indianapolis Colts travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots in Week 9. Here are the odds and a prediction for the game.

Last season, the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots met in an epic Saturday night matchup that was highlighted by a late-game touchdown run from Jonathan Taylor that sealed the victory for Indy. The game reignited a rivalry that many thought was dead but last year’s matchup showed that it is alive and well. However, with the teams meeting on Sunday for a Week 9 matchup, the energy is not quite the same leading up to the game.

The game isn’t in primetime and Indy is entering the matchup at 3-4-1 with Sam Ehlinger at quarterback, and the Patriots are coming in at 4-4, with a minor quarterback controversy themselves. Both teams have been underwhelming through the first eight games and they will try to use this rivalry game as a launching pad into the second half of the season where they will hopefully play better.

Colts vs. Patriots odds Week 9

According to FanDuel, Indianapolis is currently +205 underdogs (bet $100 to win $205). New England, on the other hand, is the favorite at -250 (bet $250 to win $100). The struggles for the Colts are expected to continue through Week 9.

The spread for the game is set at 5.5 points with -110 odds. The odds of the Patriots winning by six or more points are -110 (bet $110 to win $100) and the odds of Indy losing by five points or less are also -110.

The over/under for this game is set at 39.5 points with the odds for the over and under at -110. That means a $110 bet on the over will win $100 if the combined points equal 40 or more and a $110 bet on the under will win $100 if the combined points equal 39 or less.

Colts vs. Patriots prediction Week 9

After being dominated by the Patriots for so long, Indianapolis had a statement victory last season that seemed like Indy was announcing that it now owns the rivalry. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case as Sunday’s game approaches. This game is looking all bad for the Colts.

New England leads the league in takeaways with 16 through eight games and Indianapolis leads the NFL in giveaways with 16. In other words, this is setting up to be a disaster for the Colts because of their inability to protect the ball. However, Indy’s solid defense will keep it from becoming embarrassing.
