3. Colts still play in the AFC South

Luckily for Indy, it is still playing in the AFC South, so there is always a chance. The most encouraging thing to me is the fact that the Colts are only .5 games back from the Tennessee Titans for the division lead. The play has been shaky, at best, and they still have a chance to take the division crown for the first time since 2014.

The Colts have not played up to their potential thus far and still have a good shot to get where they want to be. They are still favorites to win the division although they have yet to win a division game. The division as a whole may be one of the worst divisions in football and has a combined record of 8-10-2. Indy has a good opportunity ahead of them to take the division lead.

Indy will take on the Jaguars and the Titans in the next two weeks. These games will both have massive implications for them. The Colts can take the division lead with wins in these two games. The Titans are going to be coming into the matchup against Indy coming off of an early bye week. These two games will tell a lot about the rest of the season moving forward.

The Colts will improve and that is a welcoming sign being how close they are to taking the division over. Indianapolis has some very winnable games coming up on their schedule and now is the time to start winning these games and get a good lead on the rest of the pack. The Titans, who are the current leader, have a rough schedule coming up. Those games for Tennessee include dates with the Bengals, Packers, Chiefs, Cowboys, Eagles, and Colts in a couple of weeks. Indy needs to take advantage of the opportunities that could arise from these games.

So, the Colts may be 2-2-1 and may not have looked like world-beaters, but we still have a shot. Play will get better, and we will see a different team in the coming weeks. With the play of our rookies, the defense, and the division we are in, anything can happen. It will be fun to see what happens in the near future for Indy.
