The Indianapolis Colts have their second matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6. Here are the odds and a prediction for the game.
The season has been ugly for the Indianapolis Colts but they enter Week 6 at 2-2-1. Despite the slow start, Indianapolis is second in the AFC South by the difference of one win. While things haven’t been going how Indy wanted, the Week 2 blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars may have been an early season rock bottom for the Colts.
After Jacksonville ended Indy’s season last year, the Week 2 game was an opportunity for Indianapolis to avenge that loss and shake the Jacksonville curse. Instead, Indianapolis lost 24-0, even worse than they did last season. However, the Colts now have another opportunity against the Jaguars in Week 6, as the two teams face off for the second time this year.
The Jaguars enter this game coming off two straight close losses, including losing to the Houston Texans in Week 5. Jacksonville will be hoping to get back on track against an Indy team that is coming off a historically bad win.
Colts vs. Jaguars odds Week 6
Despite Jacksonville blowing out Indy in the teams’ last two meetings, Indianapolis enters this game as the favorite. According to FanDuel, the Colts are -130 favorites (bet $130 to win $100). The Jaguars are +110 underdogs (bet $100 to win $110). Like the last time these two played in Indianapolis, the game is expected to be close.
FanDuel currently has the spread set at 2.5 points. The odds of Indy winning by three or more points is -106 (bet $106 to win $100). The odds of Jacksonville losing by two points or less is -114 (bet $114 to win $100).
The over/under for this game is set at 41.5 points with the odds for both the over and under at -110. That means a $110 bet on the over will win $100 if the combined points equal 42 or more and a $110 bet on the under will win $100 if the combined points equal 41 or less.
Colts vs. Jaguars prediction Week 6
After surprising the NFL in the first four weeks, Jacksonville came back down to earth in Week 5 against the Texans. The Jaguars’ defense did play well but they ultimately lost 13-6. With Indy’s defense also playing well, this could be another defensive struggle that the Colts must try and pull out.
Since being shut out by Jacksonville in Week 2, Indianapolis scored 20, 17, and then nine points against the Broncos. Indy likely won’t be shut out again but an offensive explosion is also unlikely. However, after an improved rushing attack in Week 5 and the emergence of Alec Pierce, the Colts should be able to score enough to finally beat Jacksonville in a close, low-scoring game.
Colts 17, Jaguars 10
