1. Colts must win the special teams battle

Last week against the Chiefs, Indy definitely won the special teams battle. The Colts took advantage of good field position and did a good job flipping the field when needed. Special teams are one of the more underrated aspects of the game.

Punter Matt Haack did a great job the other day against the Chiefs when he was called upon. He and the rest of the punt team did phenomenally in punt coverage. They recovered a muffed punt and downed one on the one-yard line. The punt team is really good and well-coached by Bubba Ventrone. On the flip side, when we stop the Titans, we need to do a good job in decision-making and in the return game. We need to get our offense in the best spot we can.

Another way that the Colts need to win the special teams battle is with the field goal unit. We need to get points on most of our drives. It is not realistic to say that we will score on every drive, but we need to get ourselves in a position to score on most drives. Kicker Chase McLaughlin did not miss last week and he needs to carry that performance into Week 4.

While special teams may not be the most fun thing to watch, it will be very important for the Colts to win. If they can control all three of these aspects of the game, it will be a fun day to be a Colts fan.
