2. Defensive Tackle – Grover Stewart

A lot of the time, Grover Stewart plays in the shadow of all of the household names on the defensive line like DeForest Buckner and Yannick Ngakoue. Through the first three weeks, however, Big Grove has been the most consistent player on the defensive line. He constantly does his job and gives the rest of the team chances to make plays.

Many assumed this kind of breakout season was coming for Stewart after he had a dominant training camp and preseason. When Grover Stewart showed up this year for Indianapolis, it was evident something was different and that he was ready to dominate opposing offenses.

Against the Chiefs, Grover had two tackles and kept constant pressure on Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Kansas City offense. He said that he wanted to blow every play up this season. While he may not have blown every play up, he sure is close. Grove has done his job through these first three games, which is eating up blocks, getting after the quarterback, and making tackles when the opportunities are there.

The Colts have found a diamond in the rough with Stewart. He has a lot of athleticism and speed. Indy’s defense has not looked the best so far this season, outside of the most recent game against one of the most high-powered offenses in the league. The Colts have welcomed the great play by Grover Stewart, and hope he continues to produce as he has been.
