In a make-or-break year, wide receiver Parris Campbell has yet to make an impact for the Indianapolis Colts through the first two games.

The first three seasons of Parris Campbell’s career were rough. After being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round, Campbell has struggled with several injuries and has been unable to reach his potential. In his first three years combined, Parris only played in 15 games and caught 34 passes for 360 yards and two touchdowns.

Entering this season, year four for Campbell, things are supposed to be different. They have to be. Campbell is in the final year of his rookie contract and he’s not only trying to prove himself to the Colts, but he’s also trying to show he belongs in this league. Unfortunately, he’s been struggling to do so through the first two weeks of the season.

After Indy’s first two games, Parris Campbell is healthy but he hasn’t been productive for the Colts yet. After three catches for 37 yards in Week 1, Campbell was blanked in Week 2 and has been a big reason why Indy’s receiver group has been so heavily criticized. The question now becomes: will Parris Campbell ever show up for the Colts?

Will Colts ever see Parris Campbell breakout?

If there was a game for Campbell to step up and finally establish himself, it was Indy’s Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Indianapolis was without Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce. This pushed Campbell up to the No. 1 receiver spot and many were confident that he would produce.

However, the offense as a whole struggled but Campbell was nonexistent. He was only targeted twice but had zero receptions. The only time his name was mentioned was when he was flagged for a penalty. That’s not going to cut it for Campbell or the Colts; he has to be better.

If Indianapolis is going to turn the season around, Parris Campbell is going to have to be more productive. Campbell staying healthy isn’t enough, he must become a factor in this offense.
