Kenny Moore was the first Indianapolis Colts player listed on the NFL’s Top 100 list and it’s also his debut on the respected list.

Every offseason, the NFL polls its players in order to create a top 100 list where the players’ opinions are the only ones that matter. Often, many honors and accolades come down to the votes of media members or coaches, but everyone it’s always wondering what players actually think. This annual list accomplishes that.

On Sunday, NFL Network revealed the players ranked 100-51 and the Indianapolis Colts saw their first representative. Coming in at No. 82 was veteran defensive back, Kenny Moore. After years of being underrated, Moore made his first appearance on this list.

In the segment detailing Moore’s ranking, some of the NFL’s top receivers talked about how tough it is to play against Kenny Moore. Chris Godwin said Moore is “the toughest matchup in terms of slot corners that I went against” and Cooper Kupp said that Kenny is “an elite player in this league.”

Kenny Moore ranked No. 82 in NFL Top 100

This comes after a season where Moore was selected to the first Pro Bowl of his career as well. In 2021, Moore played in all 17 games and recorded 102 tackles, six for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and four interceptions.

He helped lead a defense that was second in the NFL in takeaways and one of the better overall units in the league. Indianapolis is hoping to be even more dangerous defensively this season. While the team has some impressive new additions in Yannick Ngakoue and Stephon Gilmore, core players like Moore will still be critical to improving the new defense.

Now that Kenny Moore has league-wide recognition, he was hoping to negotiate a new contract that better reflects his worth but the Colts weren’t willing to entertain him with two seasons left on his deal. However, Moore was willing to table the discussion and focus on football for now. When Kenny Moore is focused on football, he’s proved that he’s one of the best players in the NFL and that’s unlikely to change in 2022.
