EDGE Derick Hall, Auburn

At a point, the Colts have to stop drafting EDGE rushers in the first three rounds, right? Wrong. Chris Ballard wants to have a tough defensive line and he continues to shoot his darts on more EDGE rushers every draft.

This year, he brought in Yannick Ngakoue via trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, and the hope is that he works out. However, this is his fifth team in four years. As much as a fan favorite he is becoming, what happens if he doesn’t work out?

Even if Yannick does work out, the Colts may need to continue adding depth pieces, because the next man up right now is Tyquan Lewis and Ben Banogu, who are likely in their final season with the Colts.

Enter Derick Hall who can bust up the middle or around the edge. This is a player that fights on every play in the SEC. He’s tough, quick, and a hard hitter. Hall is 6-foot-3 and 256 pounds. While that’s not incredibly imposing for an edge rusher, it does give him the advantage of speed and athleticism at the line of scrimmage.

The NFL is getting faster and younger anyway and adding Hall to Indy’s defense would be a quick infusion of youth to the position to complement Kwity Paye, and hopefully Ngakoue.
