The Indianapolis Colts have had a lot of impressive plays during training camp including some by some undrafted free agents.

So far, training camp has been electric for the Indianapolis Colts and they are just getting started. On Wednesday, the team finally put on shoulder pads and took things up a notch. In the first few practices that were open to the public, there was a lot for fans to observe.

Everyone has loved seeing the new additions like Matt Ryan, Stephon Gilmore, and Yannick Ngakoue go to work, and there has also been plenty of highlight plays, led by the rookies. While fans may expect big plays from first-year players like Alec Pierce and Nick Cross, one of the biggest plays from camp so far has come from a rookie whose name doesn’t have much buzz.

Michael Young Jr., one of Indy’s undrafted free agents, is a wide receiver that’s trying to make the team. He recently made a name for himself after pulling in the most impressive catch of camp. In the one-on-one period, Young went up the sideline and made a one-handed back shoulder grab with a defender draped over him.

As shown in the video, the crowd went wild after Young hauled in the pass. If he can keep making catches like that, he’ll have a pretty good chance at making the final roster as an undrafted free agent.

Like Indy’s top pick in this year’s Draft, Young played college football at Cincinnati. He started his career at Boise State then went to Notre Dame and ultimately played his final two seasons alongside Alec Pierce at Cincinnati.

In his last two seasons with the Bearcats, Young caught 57 passes for 685 yards and five touchdowns. The numbers were good enough to earn him a camp invite as an undrafted free agent and he’s capitalizing on the opportunity with amazing one-handed grabs. We’ll see if he can keep the impressive catches up and earn himself a spot on the Colts.
