Entering his third season, Michael Pittman Jr. is set up for another productive year with the Indianapolis Colts and in fantasy football.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts used their first two picks to select Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor. Both Taylor and Pittman had promising rookie seasons in 2020, but they both broke out last year and established themselves as the top skill players on Indy’s offense.

Taylor ran for a bunch of yards and touchdowns while racking up records and awards, and Pittman surpassed 1,000 receiving yards. Now, as they enter their third season, Taylor is projected to be the first name called in many fantasy drafts but Pittman may slip down the board.

However, fantasy experts are advising fans not to sleep on Pittman’s fantasy value. In a recent CBS Sports article, Michael Pittman Jr. was named as one of the top fantasy sleepers entering the upcoming season.

Michael Pittman Jr. a top sleeper pick for fantasy football

The staff at CBS Sports used a computer model from SportsLine that has an amazing track record of predicting fantasy production. This year, the model is projecting Michael Pittman Jr. as one of the top sleeper picks.

There’s a belief that the change from Carson Wentz to Matt Ryan won’t impact his production much, and that he can still put up numbers efficiently. The article says, “Pittman’s efficiency is a big reason the SportsLine model predicts that he holds more value at his current 2022 Fantasy football ADP than others drafted ahead of him like Mike Williams, A.J. Brown, and Amari Cooper.”

In addition to what the model projects, there’s a sense in Indianapolis that the offense is flowing smoother for the Colts with Ryan at quarterback. While it’s still extremely early and the team has only been through the offseason program, it seems like Ryan is a perfect fit for what Frank Reich wants to do offensively.

This should lead to another increase in production for Pittman and ultimately make fans feel comfortable about drafting him higher in fantasy than he may be projected to go.
