The Indianapolis Colts will enter training camp with a stacked roster and Super Bowl aspirations, but how do they compare to the rest of the NFL?

Training camp is around the corner for the Indianapolis Colts and it will be the start of what could be a magical season for Indy. With several returning players and a few new talented additions, the Colts have a roster that is equipped to make noise in the NFL this season.

Just how good is that roster though? Indy has several players that are arguably the best at their positions like Jonathan Taylor, Quenton Nelson, Darius Leonard, and Kenny Moore, but there are also some question areas like the wide receiver unit.

When the roster is looked at from top to bottom, how do the Colts compare with the rest of the teams in the NFL? Ben Linsey from PFF recently took on the task of ranking all 32 of the league’s rosters. Linsey ranked Indianapolis as the 15th-best roster in the NFL entering next season.

Linsey also named the biggest strength, weakness, and an X-factor for Indianapolis and it was the usual choices. The strength was obviously the run game and the weakness was the pass-catching unit. Somewhat surprising, Kwity Paye was named as the X-factor for the Colts in 2022.

Like many have already predicted, Linsey believes Paye will have a breakout season after a solid rookie year. He’s surrounded by a ton of talent on defense, so he should have the opportunity to make a significant impact throughout the season.

Overall, Indy’s roster being ranked No. 15 is pretty good. A lot of teams in the NFL have stacked rosters, and Indianapolis being at 15 shows that it is in the top half of the league. More importantly, Indy is the highest-ranked AFC South team.

That means if the talent that’s on paper for Indianapolis can translate to the field, Indy should win the division and return to the playoffs. Then, the team can prove just how good its roster is.
