Reason No. 2: The Colts start with 5 divisional games

Teams will always prepare for the divisional games because of how important a win or loss can be at any point in the season. Having five divisional games in seven weeks may be tough.

A few divisional losses early in the season could derail the entire season and force the Colts to play catchup for the remainder of the games. That, mixed with another late bye week and a final divisional game in Week 18, the Colts could be out of the playoffs by Week 10.

The saving grace is that Indy will go up against the Texans in the final week at home. What should be an easy win (we all thought this last year) could land the Colts a divisional win.

Although, a few key losses against the Titans early on could be a detriment. Not to mention the two non-divisional games in the first seven weeks are against the Chiefs and Broncos. Can the Colts pull out wins against Mahomes and Wilson early?

This is going to be tricky waters to swim through early on, but a great team should be able to do it with no problems. If the Colts can exit Week 7 with a record of 4-3 or 5-2, they should have a real solid chance at winning the division.
