Mo Alie-Cox is now the top tight end for the Indianapolis Colts and he will attend Tight End University to pick up some tricks to teach his teammates.

With Jack Doyle retired, the elder tight end for the Indianapolis Colts is Mo Alie-Cox. After transitioning from college basketball and establishing himself as an NFL tight end, Alie-Cox signed a three-year deal to return to the Colts this offseason.

Mo Alie-Cox is now the top tight end in Indianapolis and he’s now leading a group of young athletic tight ends. Last year, Indy drafted Kylen Granson, and the team double-dipped in this year’s Draft selecting Jelani Woods and Andrew Ogletree.

Frank Reich has talked about having a tight end-centric passing offense, and now, Indianapolis has the players to build it. With Doyle gone, Alie-Cox has the responsibility of teaching the young guys the ropes.

Fortunately, he will soon have a degree that will help him impart wisdom to his teammates after it was reported that Alie-Cox was invited to this year’s Tight End University.

Mo Alie-Cox will learn from the league’s best at TEU

Tight End University, or TEU, is an annual offseason gathering of tight ends across the league led by George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen. It’s an opportunity for the players to have fun, get to know each other, and most importantly, share tips and tools on how to excel as a tight end in the NFL.

These types of events are becoming commonplace in the NFL as the competitors are comfortable sharing the wealth of knowledge. Von Miller has long hosted an annual pass rush summit, and many other position groups connect throughout the offseason, so the tight ends decided it was time to start their own meetup last offseason.

This will be the second year of TEU as they’ll connect in Nashville from June 22-24. For guys like Alie-Cox, this can be a big learning experience.

Alie-Cox is still climbing up the tight end ladder in the NFL and he has a lot of room for growth. Everything he picks up from his peers can make him a better tight end and also give him things to teach his younger teammates. The Colts are hoping this education from TEU will improve their tight end room.
