Colts can sign Jaquiski Tartt for safety depth

Jaquiski Tartt is another starting safety that is currently without a job after his contract with the San Francisco 49ers expired. Considering the way his season ended, Tartt is probably eager to return to the field and redeem himself.

San Francisco was a few plays away from advancing to the Super Bowl last season and Tartt was apart of a critical play that could’ve resulted in the 49ers defeating the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game.

Tartt had a chance to intercept Matthew Stafford when the 49ers were up in the fourth quarter but he dropped the pass. Obviously, the game was much bigger than one play, but it’s definitely a play Tartt probably wishes he had back.

However, that’s in the past and Jaquiski Tartt is now looking for a new team after playing his entire seven-year career with the San Francisco 49ers.

In those seven years, Tartt started 64 off 80 games and was a consistent factor in the middle of the field. Last season was one of his best years with 66 total tackles and five for a loss.

This late into the offseason, Tartt hasn’t signed with a team and that could mean he isn’t a high priority for many franchises. He could join Indianapolis as a rotation safety and help the team have depth, the ability to rotate, and the freedom to utilize different packages.
