3. Nick Cross makes a quick impact in the Colts’ secondary

Khari Willis has made an impact on the Colts’ secondary but is often overshadowed by the rest of the defense. In the last few years, Khari has not played a full season and has never played more than 14 games in a single season.

Ballard made an impact statement by drafting Nick Cross in the earlier rounds of the NFL Draft. Is this a new replacement for Khari Willis? It wouldn’t really be a shock if it is.

Cross is going to enter camp as the backup safety behind Willis, but a camp battle will put a lot of respect onto his name heading into the season.

Nick is going to play in games early as a rotational player, but by the end of the season, he’s going to be the starter.

Fans had low expectations of Julian Blackmon in his rookie season due to his college injuries. I’d expect similar production from a player like Nick Cross.

Blackmon and Cross in the back are going to be a great safety duo in the league, especially when you pair them with young players like Rodgers.
